Christmas Movies… Why Not Other Holiday Movies?

Ok. In my last post, I shared the favorite holiday movies. Most of them were Christmas movies. Ok, all of them were Christmas movies. So I went thinking. Why aren’t there any other holiday movies? Like Hannukah, or all those other Holidays. Like Divali, or, Eid Al Fitir. Ok, maybe some of you are reading this and saying, some of these aren’t even near Christmas. I know. But still. I find it confusing that people haven’t made any holiday movies from other countries or cultures. As much as i love and enjoy watching Christmas movies, I think that its about time that there’s another holiday movie. And I’m not saying this because I’m Jewish. Ok I am saying that because I’m Jewish. But that doesn’t matter. I could also be speaking for other people who don’t celebrate Christmas. I am not targeting anyone, just saying that when we live in a world now where we can recognize so many different holidays and cultures, I think they deserve some spotlight too. People can get into holiday spirit celebrating any holiday they want, and I think that some people do that by watching their favorite holiday movies.

Ahhh, now I feel better. I’m gonna go watch A Christmas Carol.

Holiday Movies & T.V

Its winter, so holidays are right around the corner. Get ready to cuddle up on your couch with your dog, loved one, family or friends. Here, i’ll show you the top holiday movies to watch this holiday season.

1. Christmas Vacation

Ahhhh, a favorite. If your looking for something about being with family for the holidays, this is the movie for you.

2. Home Alone

This is a classic. This will send you back so many memories, and maybe remind you how old you are. Just kidding. When Kevin McCallister gets stuck home alone while his family is on vacation, we see his adventures while being home alone, and maybe even see that it isn’t what he thought it would be. This movie is something that everyone will love this holiday season.

3. How The Grinch Stole Christmas

This has to be one of my favorite holiday movies. The old one, and the new one, both are a something that definitely gets me in the holiday mood. A movie that shows that Christmas isn’t about gifts, but the value of family and being together. Watch how the Grinch goes from cold hearted to Christmas lover, showing love and cheer through the screens and throughout your home and town.

4. Elf

A movie, with holiday spirit everywhere, with reuniting a family, and starting a new one. Will Ferrell’s perfect humor puts the P in perfect for this film.

4. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

I think I can speak for the majority of the world when I say that this movie is a favorite. The classic cartoon by Disney about a young reindeer outcasted from the rest and ending up to be Santa’s main reindeer, leading the others. This movie is a must watch for this holiday season.

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas

This spooky stop motion film puts a twist in the normal Christmas and holiday movies. Tim Burton does a wonderful job of giving a chill down your spine, but still putting you in the Christmas spirit.

6. A Christmas Carol

This is a classic to watch with your families, and maybe with that one person who just cant seem to get into holiday spirit. This movie shows the full transformation of a old grouch who hates the sight of colorful lights or ornaments around your trees, and the smell of holiday dinners flooding the streets, to someone who cant get enough of it. I guess its kinda like the Grinch. Whichever Christmas grouch you choose, i’m sure you and all who watch will love this movie for this season.

And that’s it! I know that there are tons of other movies out there, but these are the ones that I felt had to be shared for anyone in need of a emergency holiday movie. (I’ve known from experience.) So keep this list in mind, and have a wonderful holiday season.
